Eagles Survive in Buffalo & Still Have a Shot at the 2 Seed

After the nail biter in Buffalo and the Niners win over Chicago, the Eagles path to the 2 seed has never been more clear

In partnership with

The Chase continues. The Eagles are staring at a very narrow but very real shot at the No. 2 seed heading into Week 18, and it’s as simple — and fragile — as it gets: beat Washington and hope the Lions handle the Bears. That’s the entire path. Anything else locks Philly into the 3 seed.

While the math is finally straightforward, the on-field product isn’t nearly as clean, with the run game continuing to be a weekly problem despite the three-game win streak. The offense has shown flashes, but the ground attack has been a mess, and it starts up front — particularly with Cam Jurgens, whose Pro Bowl nod feels wildly disconnected from what’s actually happening snap to snap. The defense is carrying its weight, the Birds are still dangerous, and the postseason setup could get much cleaner very quickly — but only if they take care of business and fix what’s been broken before it matters most.

Let’s get into it.

🌊 THE CURRENTS

  1. EAGLES PATH TO THE 2 SEED: The Eagles have exactly one path to the No. 2 seed in the NFC: beat Washington in Week 18 and hope the Lions take care of the Bears. If both happen, Philly is locked into the 2 seed; if either fails, they’re stuck at No. 3. The math is finally simple — the margin for error is not. Read More Eagles Content Here

  2. BRYCE VS. DOMBROWSKI BEEF: Bryce Harper reignited the “not elite” debate by wearing a “Not Elite” shirt in the batting cage, clearly leaning into comments made earlier this offseason by Dave Dombrowski questioning whether Harper still had another elite season in him. The message doesn’t feel accidental, and honestly, that’s a good thing — a motivated, slightly pissed-off Bryce Harper is exactly what the Phillies want. If this is Harper turning criticism into fuel, history suggests that button might’ve been the right one to push. Read More Phillies Content Here

  3. EMBIID DROPS 31 WITH NO SOCKS ON: Joel Embiid dropped 31 points on the Bulls while apparently wearing no-show socks, and somehow the internet cared more about his ankles than his actual dominance. While fans nitpicked footwear and blamed him for everything else, Embiid quietly kept producing, looking healthy, efficient, and very much like himself again. Sock discourse aside, he’s still the best player on the floor — whether people want to admit it or not. Read More Sixers Content Here

  4. SOMALI DAYCARE SCANDAL: A single YouTuber, Nick Shirley, dropped a 42-minute video alleging massive child-care fraud in Minnesota, and it exploded to tens of millions of views while major media outlets completely ignored it. He physically visited supposedly funded facilities that appeared empty, raising serious questions that officials only responded to after public pressure — not journalism. Whether he’s right or wrong isn’t the point; pretending the story doesn’t exist while everyone is watching is the real scandal. Read More Trending Content Here
