Fanatics Super Bowl Merch Fiasco + Vic Fangio Officially Returns
Fan backlash grows over botched Super Bowl gear while the Eagles get much-needed stability on defense

The Chase continues. It’s been a tale of two very different kinds of incompetence this week. On the national stage, Fanatics managed to embarrass itself yet again by rolling out Super Bowl jerseys so bad that fans instantly clocked them as knockoffs. Wrong colors, cheap materials, and a hollow apology from Michael Rubin that completely missed the point only poured gas on the fire. It wasn’t a supply issue. It was a quality issue, and it’s another reminder of what happens when one company controls an entire industry and no longer fears the consumer.
Back in Philly, the Eagles avoided their own potential disaster. After real concern that Vic Fangio might walk away this offseason, the team is now confident their defensive coordinator will return for 2026. With the offensive coordinator search already dragging and key staffers leaving the building, losing Fangio would have been catastrophic for a Super Bowl contender. Instead, the Birds get continuity, stability, and one more run with the man who held the defense together. One story shows what happens when accountability disappears. The other shows why it still matters when leadership gets it right.
Let’s get into it.
🌊 THE CURRENTS
EAGLES AVOID FANGIO RETIREMENT. After brief retirement buzz that had the Eagles quietly exploring contingency options, the team is now confident Vic Fangio will return as defensive coordinator in 2026. His decision to run it back preserves much-needed continuity and keeps a Super Bowl–caliber defense intact. » All Things Eagles Here
THE DOMINICK BARLOW GAME. Dominick Barlow had the night of his life, posting career highs with 26 points and 16 rebounds as the Sixers cruised to a wire-to-wire 128-113 win over the Clippers to open their West Coast trip. With Tyrese Maxey in full control and Philly dominating the glass, Los Angeles never seriously threatened. » All Things Sixers Here
THE FANATICS MONOPOLY HITS A BREAKING POINT. Fanatics botched Super Bowl jerseys so badly that fans immediately clocked them as cheap knockoffs, then made it worse with a hollow apology that blamed demand instead of quality. It’s the latest example of what happens when Michael Rubin’s merch monopoly faces no real competition and no real consequences. » More Trending Topics Here
