McDaniel to LA, Eagles Doomsday Propaganda Hits All-Time High

The Eagles didn’t “lose” McDaniel... he just took the obvious gig. But that won’t stop the loudest idiots from spiraling anyway.

The Chase continues. Mike McDaniel is headed to LA to link up with Jim Harbaugh, and within five minutes Eagles Twitter reacted like the franchise just got relegated to the XFL. Jeff Darlington came out and said McDaniel was the Eagles’ “top target,” but Philly never even got the chance to sit him down — which, honestly, makes perfect sense when you remember McDaniel is a West Coast guy, his wife’s from California, and the Chargers are basically offering him sunshine, stability, and the keys to Justin Herbert. And if we’re being real, the McDaniel hype is a little out of control anyway. His offense is “sexy,” sure, but it’s also never won a playoff game, fell off a cliff the last two years, and doesn’t even fit what the Eagles are built to do. I’m not heartbroken. The Eagles almost never get the hot name, and more often than not, it works out just fine.

But of course, the second McDaniel picked LA, the doomsday propaganda machine hit warp speed — led by the usual suspects who pretend the Eagles OC job is some impossible nightmare to “navigate.” That’s the part that makes me laugh. Did Shane Steichen have trouble navigating? Kellen Moore? Both turned their time in Philly into head coaching gigs. The only guys who couldn’t handle it were Brian Johnson and Kevin Patullo, and that’s because they weren’t good at the job, not because WIP yelled at them. The Eagles are loaded with talent, the market is massive, the spotlight is real, the offensive line gives you a weekly cheat code, and if you make this thing hum you’re instantly on the fast track to bigger opportunities. If that scares you off, then you were never the guy to begin with.

Let’s get into it.

🌊 THE CURRENTS

  1. THE LIER WHO KEEPS ON LYING, DIANNA RUSINI. Dianna Russini went on 94WIP and tried to claim the Eagles OC job is “too tough to navigate,” so I ran a quick fact check: the offense is loaded, the spotlight is massive, and the last two guys who nailed it in Philly turned it into head coaching jobs. If that gig scares you, you’re not the right guy — Russini’s just pushing the usual clickbait doom-and-gloom. » All Things Eagles Here

  2. IT’S TIME TO GET REAL ABOUT CASTY. The Phillies are openly shopping Nick Castellanos and even floating a release like it’s normal, which is basically the dumbest possible way to build leverage and guarantees you get nothing back. Casty wasn’t great last year, but the public pile-on feels forced and personal — and if this ends with him gone, the “replacement plan” looks worse while the real issue (the lineup vanishing in October) still isn’t fixed. » All Things Phillies Here

  3. THEY’LL ALWAYS HATE THE PROCESS. Joel Embiid is officially looking like Joel Embiid again, dropping 30 on the Pacers and continuing a January surge where he’s been efficient, aggressive, and living at the free throw line. He also just became the third-fastest center in NBA history to reach 200 career 30-point games, trailing only Wilt and Kareem — so the “decline” crowd can shut up until the playoffs prove otherwise. » All Things Sixers Here

  4. WHAT’S TRENDING. Fernando Mendoza got his revenge on Miami by leading Indiana to a perfect 16-0 season and the program’s first National Championship, capped by a gritty late rushing TD that put the Hoosiers ahead for good. Then he went viral in the postgame interview after taking a shot at the Hurricanes and accidentally saying some absolutely unhinged shit, cementing himself as both a psycho competitor and the likely #1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. » More Trending Topics Here
