Phillies crush MLB-best 57 home runs in August 😤

Get ready for sensory overload. The Philadelphia Phillies are playing incredible baseball as the MLB schedule flips into the month of September, aligning with College Football and the NFL season.

The Eagles will begin their Super Bowl campaign on the road in New England on September 10th and will have their home opener on Thursday Night Football on September 14th.

That’s a lot to process for sure, but we’re locked in and ready to not only parade down Broad Street in November, but also in February.

The MLB season officially begins on June 1st and if you’ve been paying attention to The Liberty Line and pretty much any social channel that I run, you should know that already.

Since June 1st, the Phillies have posted a 49-28 record

Obviously, in the month of August, things have elevated to the level of “World Series Contender” with the Phillies posting an impressive 17-9 record while smashing an MLB-leading 57 home runs during the month.

There’s one game left in the month of August. Cristopher Sanchez (2-3, 3.33 ERA) will take the mound against Reid Detmers (3-10, 5.03 ERA) looking for the Phillies second consecutive series sweep at 1:35PM.

In the NL Wild Card, the Phillies continue to distance themselves from the pack and now hold a 5-game lead over the San Francisco Giants in third and 4-game lead over the Chicago Cubs in second.

Aaron Nola, who has been everything but consistent this season, delivered for the Phillies, throwing seven scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and a walk while striking out nine against the lowly St. Louis Cardinals.

Nola’s nine strikeouts against the Cards moved him into a tie for 5th place with Curt Schilling on the Phillies all-time strikeout list with 1,554th career K’s.

Surprising Statement from Ben Simmons

In a recent interview, Ben Simmons stated that he will always love the city of Philadelphia and Sixers fans. He then took it a step further saying that if he was to be traded again, Philly would be the only preferred destination.

Obviously, there’s little-to-no chance it ever happens, but it definitely should.

The Sixers are in absolute shambles and nothing would bring me joy more than a Ben Simmons reunion.
