The Philadelphia Phillies have won 4 straight games and improved to 4-1 overall since returning from the All-Star break after last night’s 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers, who currently sit in first place in the NL Central.

With last night’s win, the Phillies improved to 52-42 on the year, marking the first time they have been 10 games over .500 this season.

National League East Standings

The Phillies managed to leapfrog the Miami Marlins in the NL East and Wild Card standings, as the Fish have now lost five straight games. Philly has also pulled themselves within 9.5 games of the East-leading Atlanta Braves, who have dropped three straight and are just 5-5 over their last 10 games.

Gold Glove Kyle Schwarber?

It’s not everyday (or really, ever) you see Kyle Schwarber make a catch like he did last night in left field against the Milwaukee Brewers. We are all witnesses.

Bryce Harper certainly has a way with words…

“First Base Bryce” Incoming…

Bryce Harper playing first base this season is inevitable. It’s just a matter of when it will actually happen. Harper was supposed to make his Phillies’ debut at 1st against the Brewers, but Rob Thomson spoke with the media yesterday and informed fans that it will likely be pushed back to the series in Cleveland over the weekend.

Literally anything to prevent the likes of Darick Hall, Drew Ellis, and Kody Clemens playing first base on any type of consistent basis at the major league level, right?

Not to mention, moving Harper to first base will free up the DH spot, which could then primarily be used by Kyle Schwarber. The Phillies could then focus on adding a right-handed outfield bat and some pitching at the deadline with first base duties going to Harper.
