Two Nights in Toronto: A Philadelphia Phillies Nightmare 💀🔔
2-Game Series in Toronto never seem to work in our favor…
As you know by now, I’m not much of a numbers guy. I operate on feelings and for the life of me, any time I see 2-games in Toronto on the Phillies’ schedule, I almost immediately chalk them up as losses and look ahead to what’s next.
The Phillies wrapped up a 10-game homestand over the weekend, dropping their final two games to the Minnesota Twins to finished 6-4, with Sunday’s “Ump Show” the final nail in the coffin.
That brought us to last night, where Zack Wheeler pitched an absolute gem in Toronto while the Phillies’ offense remained stagnant in a 2-1 loss.
Tonight, the Phillies will send Aaron Nola to the mound in what should be described as a “season defining” start against Phillies’ killer Kevin Gausman for the Toronto Blue Jays.

National League East Standings
Believe it or not, the Phillies did cut the Atlanta Braves stranglehold on the National League East to 9.5 games over the weekend. That number soon jumped back to double digits after The Fightins (or lack thereof) lost their last three games.
The Hunt for Red October continues in the NL Wild Card
The Phillies still sit atop of the NL Wild Card standings. Last edition of The Chase, they were tied with the San Francisco Giants. This week, they hold a one-game advantage while again, losing three straight games.
Schedule Note: San Francisco will head to Citizens Bank Park for a three game series on August 21st, which could hold major postseason implications when it’s all said and done.

Turner went 17-for-39 (.436) with eight extra-base hits (including two home runs), 10 RBIs and a 1.207 OPS during that stretch.

James Harden calls Daryl Morey a LIAR
James Harden did an Adidas Tour in China this past week and spoke to a room full of children, letting them know that Daryl Morey is a liar and that he refuses to ever play basketball for an organization he’s a part of.
In corresponding moves, PJ Tucker immediately took Harden’s side, vowing to stand behind his longtime friend and teammate on Instagram. For whatever reason, Joel Embiid then updated his social media profiles removing any association to the city of Philadelphia and the 76ers.
Having fun yet? Every single season we are stuck with complete chaos surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers and no one really seems to grasp how insane things have truly become for this basketball team.
