Snowmageddon Aftermath + Joel Embiid's Return to Dominance

Snow still everywhere, Embiid back to doing Embiid things

The Chase continues. Snowmageddon hit Philly the same way it always does. Some streets cleared, others untouched, and a whole lot of people watching snow plows blast through neighborhoods like it was a prank video, burying parked cars and daring residents to laugh about it. After a recent city worker strike and ongoing service issues, the benefit of the doubt is gone. Narrow streets aren’t new. The infrastructure problems aren’t new. The frustration isn’t either. When basic services feel optional depending on your block, people are allowed to be annoyed.

While the city spun its wheels, Joel Embiid did the opposite. As the streets froze over, Embiid returned to dominance and reminded everyone what actually works around here. Which made Doc Rivers popping up to praise Embiid while simultaneously explaining away his own failures feel almost poetic. Same excuses, different city. Embiid is still here doing the heavy lifting, cutting through the noise, and carrying a city that could really use something functioning the way it’s supposed to.

Let’s get into it.

🌊 THE CURRENTS

  1. DABOLL GETS HIRED BY TITANS. Brian Daboll was intrigued by the idea of reuniting with Jalen Hurts, but ultimately chose Tennessee, a decision that speaks volumes about who he didn’t want to work under in Philadelphia. The message is clear: Hurts isn’t the problem, and the silence around Nick Sirianni tells you everything else. » All Things Eagles Here

  2. PHILLIES YOUTH RESURGENCE. The Phillies landed three prospects on MLB Pipeline’s 2026 Top 100, and this time it actually matters. Justin Crawford, Andrew Painter, and Aidan Miller aren’t just names for the future, they’re close enough to impact this season if the team is serious about injecting real youth into the roster. » All Things Phillies Here

  3. IVERSON GOES VIRAL ON REDDIT. Allen Iverson is going viral for all the wrong reasons after a Reddit post accused him of showing up late, disengaged, and dismissive at a kids-with-cancer event in Australia. One post doesn’t erase a legacy, but when you’re Allen Iverson and the moment is bigger than you, there isn’t a middle ground between showing up fully or not showing up at all. » All Things Sixers Here

  4. WHAT’S TRENDING. Diego Pavia measured in at 5’9″ at the Senior Bowl after spending the season claiming 6’0″, and the internet wasted no time dragging him for it. Confidence is fine, cockiness is entertaining, but once you overplay your hand and inflate the résumé, the clowning is inevitable. » More Trending Topics Here
