The Lead · Eagles AJ Brown left a message. Just don’t ask him about it. |
| FRIDAY · JUNE 12, 2026 | No. 10 |
Before clearing out of NovaCare, AJ Brown wrote “The best to ever play here. Always Open” on a photo of himself. Thursday in Foxborough, somebody finally asked him about it. He wouldn’t get into it. He appreciated his time in Philly. He’s where his feet are. That’s the entire answer from a man who signed his own farewell note like a championship banner and then acted like somebody else held the Sharpie — if you’re bold enough to write it on the wall, be bold enough to repeat it into a microphone. And since he won’t litigate the claim, we will: he’s not the best to ever play here. He’s not even the best wideout. |

| Eagles BOUGHT IN Riq Woolen closed out spring ball by picking off Hurts, “sacking” him on a corner blitz, and erasing a deep shot — and the beat guys say he made plays in all four open practices. A 6-foot-4 corner with a ring, on a one-year deal, handed to Vic Fangio. The hype train is boarding. Eagles report → |
| Phillies DUCT-TAPED Hours after Adolis Garcia grabbed his shoulder in Toronto, the Phils shipped two non-Top-30 prospects to the White Sox for Derek Hill and his .213 average. It’s a band-aid — but the man hits lefties, which is more than most of this lineup can say. Phillies report → |

Trending De’Aaron Fox had the Finals in his hands with 13 seconds left. Then the Garden happened. Up one, ball in his hands, all he had to do was dribble out and get fouled. Instead: a blocked layup, a missed Brunson three, and an OG Anunoby tip-in at 1.2 seconds while the one Spur paid to prevent that exact collapse boxed out absolutely nobody. The full thing → |

AJ is still talking around the wall he wrote on, Woolen is still picking everything off, and the Phillies went outfielder shopping in the clearance aisle. June in Philly — never a dull Friday. ★ — TLL |
