VJ EDGECOMBE - THE PRINCE WHO WAS PROMISED
VJ Edgecombe walked into TD Garden on opening night and put the NBA on notice, dropping 34 points with seven rebounds, five threes, and 42 minutes in a Sixers win over Boston — the third-highest scoring debut in league history and the most ever by a Sixer, passing Allen Iverson.
This wasn’t empty rookie hype; the Sixers needed him, and he delivered, attacking mismatches, hitting big shots, and earning Nick Nurse’s trust immediately. He plays fearless, aggressive basketball built for Philly and formed instant chemistry with Tyrese Maxey, proving he’s not a development project — he’s a real piece right now. Teams will adjust, but the talent, mentality, and role are already real. VJ Edgecombe just changed the ceiling of this team, and he’s not waiting around to be great.
LATEST ON THE BIRDS
AJ Brown dropped another cryptic IG post this week and, as usual, 94WIP took the bait and spent half their broadcast pretending they weren’t bothered while ranting about it for entire segments.
At this point, it’s obvious AJ is just messing with Philly sports radio, and they’re too addicted to fake outrage to ignore it. Anyone actually mad about his posts needs to relax — nobody cares as long as he’s producing on Sundays. This is just pointless media drama to fill airtime, and AJ is clearly enjoying every second of it. Go Birds.
